Dr. House

My name is Dr. House and I'm the biologist for this six weeks.
I'm going to be talking about deforestation and its effects. About half of the tropical forests have been cleared. An estimated 18 million acres is cleared every year. Deforestation is one of the factors of global climate change.
Trees absorb green house gases and carbon emissions. They produce oxygen and perpetuate the water cycle by releasing water vapor into the atmosphere. Without trees, forest lands will become barren lands. The reason that logging is so bad for the climate is that when eyes are felled they release the carbon they are storing in the atmosphere, where it mingles with green house gases from other other sources that contribute to global warming accordingly.
